Gearbox Software

Gearbox Software

Gearbox is a video game company in Plano Texas. They are known for video game titles such as Brothers In Arms, Borderlands, Duke Nukem, and have worked with other studios on Halo, Aliens, Tony Hawk, and James Bond.

I am interested in their Concept Artist position that they have available. I was applying for Pixar's Sketch Artist position but has now been taken down from their website. So I chose Gearbox to take its place and wrote my cover letter for that.

Since Tuesday

Completed editing the dialogue together. Still need to add an effect to it but at least I can start animating and timing it to the voice.

Completed moving the Photoshop backgrounds into Animate Pro, still need to put them in focus but do not need to go back in to Photoshop.

Recording Lines- 45 minutes

Sound and Backgrounds

Finished with the backgrounds that needed to be done in Photoshop. This weekend I got all the dialogue of the Knight's voice recorded (unsure if this is "The Voice", but about 85% positive being open to a voice that's better if I find it). This week I'll be editing the sound and moving the Photoshop backgrounds into Animate Pro.

Work Log One

Backgrounds:

So far with the backgrounds that I've completely finished and will not need to be edited or brushed up in any way are 15 of them. Some of these backgrounds are used several times in the animation, so there are more than 15 shots completed. Each background's time varies since some I've had to go back and fix or redo it.

*Long shot: more time spent to detail, important since it will be shown for a longer time.
*Edited: went back to change, time worked my vary.

Background One: 2-3 hours (redone)
Background Two: 4-5 hours (redone and long shot)
Background Three: 2-3 hours (redone)
Background Four: 4-5 hours (long shot)
Background Five: 4-5 hours (long shot)
Background Six: 2

Background Ten: 2
Background Eleven: 2-3

Background Fifteen:4-5 (used several times)

Script:
Day One: 6 hours
